| It's 1% agar with running buffer to make the gel, yes. We stain it after it hardens to avoid ethidium bromide being in more than one place, but I know that other labs add the ethidium bromide directly to the gel to make the fragments look neater. |

| oh i see. so the Toxic! thing is the running buffer but do you add it again after the gel hardens? Like i read somewhere that you have to submerge the hardened gel in the buffer while it is in the cradle... |
