when serbs and bulgarians wanted the whole land of macedonia from skopje to the aegean sea from the ottomans they claimed that macedonians living there were serbs and bulgarians when in fact they knew they weren't. Thats why the serbs gave the land back in 1991 without a war, they knew the land wasn't there's, just that greeks still don't recognise this.
