MasyaAllah my friends. Wearing hijab is a must for women and it is one of the ways that we, Muslims, protect our women. I personally believe that Islam is not a hard religion at all to follow. Yes, you can modernized if you want to as it is important so that a country grows strong and ensure the people are in the safe hand. Why do u people still argue with the past, its like questioning saudi goverment, no one likes them, because they saled religion for money petrol and etc,. but can we do anything about it, no, so whats the use of saying bad things about the past. some muslim countries have 2 modernise, or else we muslims will allways loose.

OmidSultanii they are Azeris, not Turks. Turks live in Turkey, the Balkan nations (Bulgaria, Macedonia..) and North Cyprus/ KKTC. And now because of the "Gasterbeiter" phenomenon , in parts of western europe mainly Germany. We are NOT the same as Azeris. They only speak a slightly related langauge to ours. Turkish culture is similar to balkan cultures, not iranian culture (go to istanbul and find out for yourself)

I am atheist, but I recognise the right for other people to practice their religion. However, they should keep it private and thats where Ataturk hit the nail on the head. All islamists and wannabe arabs/iranians can leave this great country. Ne mutlu Türküm diyene!

Also I'm sure you don't know anything about Iran, you have only watched about it on TV, and belive everyone there are religious. If you know Iranians, you must know Iranians are one of the most secularised people in muslim world. Very few Iranians even care about Eid fetr and ramazan.

I have been in Turkey 3 times. Cultures are different in Turkey, and Istanbul is maybe closer to Balkan cultures because Istanbul is partly in Balkan, partly in M East, 97% of turkey is asia. Azeris are a Turkish people. Bosnians not.
